Herbivorous Fish
Chinese Grass Carp are herbivorous fish that were purposely introduced into lakes and ponds of Florida as a way to help control aggressive nuisance aquatic weed growth.
These fish have an immense appetite for invasive plants like hydrilla. Other nuisance aquatic plants that these fish eat are Coontail, Muskgrass, Southern Naiad and Slender Spikerush.
The average size of the Carp when installed is 8-10 inches. They have a life span of 8-10 years.
